[abstract] In this paper a model system is presented which enables the calculation in real time of the dispersion of air pollutants from industrial stacks. The model is suitable for application in nonhomogeneous terrain and can run on a personal computer. It consists of two parts; a diagnostic model for the calculation of the unsteady, mass-consistent flow field; and a Gaussian puff model to simulate dispersion from elevated continuous point sources (industrial stacks). The model system is applied to simulate dispersion from two industrial stacks in Thessaloniki area, Greece.
